Shock absorbers

Shock absorber is a mechanical device, used to absorb the impulse of a shock or dampens the kinetic energy formed. Shock absorbers plays a significant role in every automobile system and it is an important part also. This instrument will reduce the shaking of the vehicle into a smooth ride. It has the capability to dissipate kinetic energy which is formed during the travel. Shock absorbers consist of ta cylinder with a piston or two cylinders with a difference in diameter. These two cylinders are covered with a spring. The vehicle will be supported by a laminated spring. Without the help of shock absorbers, then the vehicle travels with bumps and shocks in an uneven road. This could easily damage many other important parts in the vehicle and this brings down the durability also. In order to compensate these shocks, use of springs is must and hence springs are the ones that can store energy and release energy in a desired way. There are many types shock absorbers are available in the market. Coil or leaf springs are commonly used. In some cases both are used to get a smooth full ride. In many vehicles, hydraulic shock absorbers are used and mode of the shock absorbers can be changed manually.
