Long-legged wasps bite off dead bark, mix it with saliva and make a paste. They fly back and forth to the nest. Each time they add a little paste to the nest until it is finished. the first nest made by a queen wasp is small and has only one cell. Soon after completing the cell, the queen lays an egg in it, then she makes another cell and lays another egg. In this manner she gradually increases the number of cells. When workers are born, they take over the task of building the nest, and the queen devotes all her time to laying eggs. As soon as they are born young wasps begin to make a nest.
