Why Are Our Eyes Set Apart?

So we will know the exact position of the things we are looking at. Draw a small circle on a piece of paper. Then close one eye and try to put a dot in the centre of the circle. It isn't easy, is it? Now try it with two eyes. Not so hard, is it? It widens our field of vision. Seeing things in proper perspective and three dimensions is possible only when we can look at them with both eyes. Since our eyes are set apart, we get a slightly different picture out of each. But when the pictures pass through out optical nerves an dare merged, we get a three-dimensional view. The area we can see top to bottom and side to side is called our field of vision.
