Why Don't Gorillas hunt Animals?

Gorillas are not hunters. They eat only plants. Gorillas are especially fond of fresh grass and tree leaves, but they also like bark and roots. Gorillas travel around in groups called bands, eating only the things they find most delicious. They never attack animals for food. according to legend gorillas are wild, fierce animals. In fact they are herbivores that eat mostly grass. By nature they are very placid. Chimpanzees, another of the anthropoid apes, sometimes kill fawns and eat them, but gorillas have never been known to eat meat. Gorillas normally live in bands that are led by a fully mature male. A band may consist of several females and young gorillas of various ages. The silverback is the most important member of the band, sand the other gorillas pay him a great deal of attention. The young eventually leave the band as they mature. Females join other bands while males go off independently to form their own bands.
