Anushka as Rudrama Devi?

After her splendid performance in Arundhati, sensuous beauty Anushka will be seen in yet another heroine-oriented film titled Rudrama Devi, to be directed by Gunashekar with a whopping budget of Rs. 40 crore. The film will have Anushka playing the role of a queen. Some say the film will be the story of Rani Rudrama Devi (1261-1296), one of the most prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty in India.Legend has it that since her father Ganapathideva had no sons, Rudrama was formally designated as a son through the ancient Putrika ceremony and given the male name of Rudra Deva. When she was only 14 years old, Rani Rudrama Devi succeeded her father. Rudrama Devi was an able fighter and dynamic ruler. She defended the kingdom from the Cholas and the Yadavas and was one of very few female rulers in South India during her time.
